Feel like a day at the spa? Or simply want to pamper yourself at home? Make these easy crochet spa headbands to wear on your relaxing day! Or use them to simply keep your hair out of way while doing your makeup. I used soft and silky velvet yarn for these headbands to give them that ‘spa’ feel…and embellished them with the classical bow and a cute flower! These headbands are easily customisable and you can make them any colour you like…the pattern below is adult size but the headband size can be adjusted for any age by varying the number of rows crocheted.

With the velvet yarn these headbands work up pretty fast making them perfect for selling at local craft markets or as party favours at kids spa parties!

    Pattern:

    Hair Band

Ch 7 with yellow or black velvet yarn

Row 1: Hdc in first ch from the hook and across, ch1 and turn (6 sts).

Row 2 – 44: Hdc across the row, ch1 and turn. Note: This hairband is 44 rows long, however, before fastening off, I suggest trying it on around your own head and adding or removing rows until the band is a comfortable size for you. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Sew the two short ends of the band together.

    Flower

With yellow velvet yarn, magic ring and ch 1.

Round 1: 6 sc in the mr, join and ch1 (6 Sts)

Round 2: 2 sc in each st around, at the end of the round join with the white velvet yarn and ch 3 (12 sts)

Round 3: 2 dc in first st, ch 3, sl st in the next st, (ch 3, 2 dc in next st, ch 3, sl st in next st) and repeat around, finishing off with a sl st.

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the flower onto the yellow headband with the tapestry needle and weave in the ends.

    Bow

    Main part of bow:

With the white yarn ch 5.

Rows 1 – 9: sc in first st from hook and across, ch 1 (4 sts). At row 9 fasten off and weave in the ends.

    Small centre part of bow:

    With white yarn ch 3.

Rows 1 – 5: sc in first chain from the hook and next st, ch 1 and turn (2 sts). At row 5 fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing and assembly.

To assemble the bow, wrap the small centre part around the main part and sew the two short ends together to make the bow.

Sew the bow onto the black headband with the tapestry needle and weave in the ends.
